Learn how to make an adventure film in the Colorado high country

Hey, all you Warren Miller-wannabes: check out Serac Adventure Film School. The Boulder, Colo., based school offers courses in the Himalayas and Antarctica. But for those who want try something closer to home, Serac has an upcoming course (Jan. 25-Feb. 2) in the Colorado backcountry, exploring the 10th Mountain Division Huts, a system of 29 backcountry huts. The aim of the class, according to Serac’s Michael Brown in an interview with SkiNet, is “setting up camera angles from great spots and shooting whoever wants to be on camera.” Serac can help with gear and Brown says any level of skier can participate. Learn more at SkiNet.

While this class might help you be a better filmmaker, ANYONE can enter a fun ski or snowboard video(or snowshoeing or a really good snowball fight) in Swany’s Outdoor Adventures Video Contest. It’s easy and you could win prizes like Swany gloves and a helmet cam. Learn how to enter.
