Video contest winner comes from Denver

And then there were six winners in the  Swany Outdoor Adventure Video Contest. The latest comes from the Mile High City — literally. Peter Batty scored the latest prize with a video shot at Ruby Hill Rail Yard, a spot to ride the rails (and boxes) in a Denver park. The video (shot in HD!) shows you can have an adventure anywhere. See for yourself.

Hey, it’s easy for you to enter the video contest, too. Here’s how.

We went east to find our fifth winner. To Stowe Mountain in Vermont, to be precise, where Sam Rogers filmed the First Trick Rail Jam in December. Lots of good moves and even a few falls, so you know they were going for it. Watch it.

Winner No. 4: Andrew Emmerson was more than just our fourth winner: he’s our first monthly winner, so he scored a helmet cam as a prize. Emmerson and some friends starred in a video tearing it up in Revelstoke, British Columbia. Watch them explore the backcountry bowls (North Bowl, South Bowl, Montana Bowl and Kokanee Bowl) and cat skiing areas. They’re not afraid to fall, these guys! See for yourself.

Winner No. 3: The prize went to Nate Brown of Wilson, Wyo., who calls himself an “all-around fun hog.” But it also took discipline and talent to climb Streaked Wall at Zion National Park, which Wilson and two friends accomplish in the third winning video in our contest. See for yourself.

Winner No. 2: Our second winner came from way out west in California, or as winner Mike B. calls it: “The Eastern Sierra.” That would be the mountain range. His winning video mixed some goofy backyard skiing with serious backcountry work in California and Idaho. His view swings from a helmet cam floating through powder to a long shot coming down an awesome backcountry chute. And, oh yeah, two (count ’em!) shameless plugs for Swany Flexor gloves. We TOLD you that couldn’t hurt you chances.  See Mike’s video here.

Winner No. 1: Matt Boetcher, a skier from Hastings, Minn., is the sort who can’t wait to get started, to the point where he has his own jib set-up in his yard. And that’s where he made this winning video. Check out his video.
