Vonn adds Super-G season title to downhill, super combined title; Riesch overall lead shrinking

She said she was’t going to give up easily, didn’t she? Lindsey Vonn ended an amazing weekend with a victory in the Super G in Tarvisio, Italy. That means the American superstar can now claim the season championship in that discipline — after adding the downhill and super combined titles with podiums earlier in the weekend.

Even better for Vonn: she has pulled within 96 points of rival Maria Riesch in the overall season standings with six world cup races left. Read more.

Sunday also brought good news for the American men’s team as 21-year-old Nolan Kasper from Vermont earned his first podium with a tie for second in a slalom race in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. See how he did it.
