Lindsey Vonn returns to winning ways, tops World Cup Super G in Italy

That’s more like it: Lindsey Vonn returned to her winning ways on Sunday (Jan. 15) by winning a  World Cup Super G in Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy.

Vonn, as she often does, made a little history with the win,  her 47th career victory. See where it puts her on the all-time wins list as well as where rival Maria Hoefl-Riesch and fellow American Julia Mancuso finished. Read more

Jan. 14: Second place has rarely been good enough for Lindsey Vonn, but even the American superstar seemed to understand that second was the best she was going to do on Saturday in the World Cup Downhill in Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy.

“I’m really happy with my run,” Vonn told the Associated Press after she placed second to Italian veteran Daniela Merighetti on a day when the wind played tricks on the racers. Part of the reason she feels fine with the result? She remains the overall leader on the tour. Read more.
