Knee injury ends Bode Miller’s season; Lindsey Vonn got the shakes on Moscow slalom course

It’s time to catch up with the stars of the American World Cup ski team, and not all the news is good.

Bummed Bode: That recent “cleanup surgery” for Bode Miller apparently was more than we were told. On Monday (Feb. 27) the skier announced he was done for the season. Too bad, it had been a good year for Miller, including a win in the Birds of Prey Downhill and a standing of 10th overall in the World Cup. What about next season? Here’s what he says.

Vonn Express: Superstar Lindsey Vonn had a great result in a dual-slalom recently in Moscow, but confessed in her weekly diary in the Denver Post that she was more than a little nervous atop the course, built on scaffolding in the middle of Moscow. Agitated Ted: The World Cup defending champ in Giant Slalom, Ted Ligety, admits in his Denver Post diary that he’s frustrated with his results so far and will need a miracle or two to defend his title. Read more.
