Opening Day is Friday at Copper Mountain and Keystone Resort in Colorado

Copper Mountain’s opening day on Nov. 2 will see the resort begin to open its trail system.

How this for openers? Keystone AND Copper Mountain open on Friday (Nov. 2) in Colorado.

That’s right, two of the most popular Summit Country resorts will be dropping the rope for happy dayskiers on the same day. What’s going to happen on opening day (other than skiing and riding)?

Keystone: After opening on Friday the resort will host the second event in the A51 River Run Rail Series, Back to the Grind Rail Session, on Saturday. The park will offer about 25-30 features in an early season park on the trail Scout, off the top of Dercum Mountain and accessed by the designated Ranger Lift. Saturday’s competition will take place under the lights with prelims starting at 4 p.m.

Copper: The rope will be dropping for the resort’s 40th season. In addition to skiing and riding, there will be early season specials all weekend long at Copper Mountain shops. And get over to Woodward at Copper’s The Barn, where you can do some extra flipping, jibbing and jumping.
