World Cup officials deny protest by Slovenian team that Lindsey Vonn insulted Tina Maze

The battle between Tina Maze and Lindsey Vonn took an ugly turn on Saturday when Slovenian officials alleged that Vonn insulted Maze, who finished second, after Vonn crossed the finish line as the winner of the Super G at St. Moritz.

Vonn told the Associated Press she did use a curse word but that it was not directed at Maze. Later, officials for the World Cup dismissed the protest as being without merit. But the fallout continued after the ruling. Read more.
