Lindsey Vonn ready to launch comeback in World Cup downhill and Super G in St. Anton, Austria

Lindsey Vonn returns to World Cup ski competition on Saturday and Sunday (Jan. 12-13) in St. Anton, Austria, after a two-week break to rebuild her conditioning. That means we’ll know soon how much the time off helped the defending overall chaVonn Mugmp recover physically and mentally from an intestinal virus that landed her in a Vail hospital during November.

A “powder” day on Friday forced cancellation of the final day of downhill training, but Vonn told reporters on Thursday she felt awesome, even though the downhill course was a tough place to re-launch her season.

The women will race a downhill on Saturday, followed by a Super G on Sunday. Here’s where to find live timing for both events, as well as full results.

Slovenian Tina Maze leads the overall standings. Here’s where to find the latest results in that race.
