Mikaela Shiffrin didn’t win the Moscow City event, but her third-place finish on Tuesday (Jan. 29) DID expand her lead over Tina Maze in the race to claim the Slalom discipline crown.

The American, who already has three World Cup Slalom wins this season, came in behind winner Lena Duerr and Veronika Velez Zuzulova. Maze, who is running away in the overall competition and has clinched Giant Slalom, finished in a tie for fifth and now stands 33 points behind the young American.
