Aksel Lund Svindal dominates men’s downhill at World Championships

FIS LogoSpeed king Aksel Lund Svindal blew away the field for gold in the Downhill on Saturday (Feb. 9) at the 42nd FIS Alpine Ski World Championships.

Italian Dominik Paris earned second, with French skier David Poisson a surprise third.

Home country hope Klaus Kroell wound up fourth, which might have been a disappointment but certainly better than the variety of American skiers (Marco Sullivan, Travis Ganong, Steven Nyman, Andrew Weibrecht) who fell or finished far behind. Read more.
